To provide one-on-one free tutoring and mentoring to children studying at our area elementary and intermediate schools through an hour and a half ministry by volunteers of the Lutheran Church -- Wisconsin Synod. To welcome any Kindergartner to 6th grade student who needs help with their reading, homework or studying for test and quizzes. All of this being done in a safe, healthy, Christian environment.
Thursday, after school, beginning at 3:30 P.M. children from the community arrive at Christ Lutheran. Entering the front doors of the church they will be welcomed by greeters where they will be signed in to keep track of attendance and will also be signed out before they leave. For first time registration, parents are asked for children’s emergency contacts, allergies, and health problems. These will be obtained by the Tutoring Coordinator. Following check in/registration the children will go down the hall to the large educational room of the church to meet with their volunteer who will provide tutoring. Break times will be provided through the tutoring sessions to give the children the opportunity to get a snack and drink. (We provide through donations). Parents will be encouraged to pick up their children promptly at 5:00 o’clock.
